Science Saturday

On Saturday, October 28th, HOSA hosted an event at the Milbank Hospital called "Science Saturday".   Students in grades 2-5 were invited to attend this fun afternoon exploring healthcare and science with our HOSA members.   The students were able to do hands on activities that included, learning about the components of blood by making slime, learning about the heart and seeing a real cow heart, learning about sugar content in foods and how it affects our bodies,  seeing a cow liver, learning how to stop a bleed and why it is important,  and finally they did yoga and learned how it increases strength and flexibility, reduces the chance of injury, and promotes mindfulness.  They ended the day with a snack and some goodies to take home.   It was a very fun filled, successful day,  and we look forward to hosting another Science Saturday event in the spring.
