Here are the results from the State CC meet held in Sioux Falls on Saturday, October 21st.

The state cross country meet in Sioux Falls was an outstanding meet for both boys' and girls' teams.  The boys team placed 4th  overall in Class A and had 3 boys (Payton Brown-3rd, James Batchelor-23rd, and Bryan Meyer-24th) earn medals by placing in the top 25 for only the 2nd time in school history.  To have 4 individual boys place in the top 29 and almost all four under 17 minutes in a 5K in the state meet is unbelievable.  Most years placing four boys that high would be good enough to be in the hunt for a state title.  The top 25 placers were mostly from the top 4 teams.  I am extremely proud of and happy for how the 4 boys seniors (Payton Brown, James Batchelor, Isaac Graham, Grant Van Peursem) ran at the state meet and finished out their CC careers.  The girls placed 9th overall in Class A as a team and had one top 25 medalist (Ashlynn Batchelor-4th).  Ashlynn's  4th place finish is highest finish by a Milbank runner since Taylor Tillma in 2008.  For our 2 senior state runners, Kynlee Speidel and Stella Wendland, they completed an outstanding senior season.  Both teams ran very well against what I would consider possibly the most talented Class A field ever.  For us to have placed as high as we did and run as well as we did shows we are amongst some of the very best in the state.
