Lifetouch Retake Picture Day has been rescheduled from the date of September 27 to the new date of October 24, 2019. We are still waiting to receive the pictures from registration days on August 7 and 8.
Dr. Melanie Weiss and her husband Paul will be speaking about opioid addiction and recovery on Tuesday, September 10th at 7pm in the MHS theater. Everyone is invited and encouraged to attend this powerful presentation.
3 Year Old Screening.....The Milbank School District will be holding a screening for children that were 3 years old by September 1, 2019, and living in the Milbank School District. This screening will occur at Koch School on Friday, October 4, 2019. The developmental screening will examine your child's skills in the areas of motor, speech, language, and general knowledge. The screening sessions will begin at 8:30 am and end at 2:00 pm. If you would like to have your 3 year old screened, please call Peggy at 432-5579 to make an appointment. (Sessions generally last less than a hour). Please contact Keri at 432-6615, if you have any questions.
South 9th Street will not be available to thru traffic beginning Wednesday, August 21st. This is the street in front of the new elementary school. Please use alternative routes to get to Milbank Middle School and Milbank High School. Thank you.
Just a reminder that we begin classes on Wednesday at 8:15am and will dismiss students at 2pm. We are looking forward to another school year!
Any incoming 6th grader, that is at least 11 years old, can come in and get their required TDap and Meningitis vaccinations, while they are at school registration on August 7 (8am-6pm) or August 8 (8am-1pm) in the nurse's office at the high school building. There are other recommended vaccines for this age, but they will only be offering the required ones. They will bill insurance or Medicaid-but will need a copy of their card that day, and if no insurance-they will be billed for the injections only. Children must be accompanied with their parent, to obtain their vaccinations.

There will be no NWEA testing at the high school tomorrow, Monday May 13th due to the loss of internet. All students need to report at the normal time for regular classes.
Seniors A-G will attend CPR training at 8:15am on Monday May 13th. Seniors H-M will attend training on Tuesday May 14th at 8:15am. Seniors O-W will attend training May 15th at 8:15am. If they are not scheduled for CPR training and do not have any missing work, class time begins at 9:30am May 13-15.
MHS Juniors will have a 9:30am start time for classes on Monday May 13th and Tuesday May 14th. On Wednesday they will register for next school year at 8:15am.
On May 13-15, Freshman and Sophomores will be NWEA testing from 8:15am-9:30am.

There will be a meeting for all 8th graders and their parents regarding high school registration on Tuesday, May 7th at 6pm in the high school theater. We will discuss the registration process, academic requirements and the high school experience in general.
Due to the cold and rain being forecast for tomorrow, the Valley Queen Invitational Track Meet is being canceled. As a result, WE WILL HAVE A FULL DAY OF SCHOOL TOMORROW APRIL 30TH.
Matt Vee Family and Friends are back by popular demand. Saturday May 4th @ 7 pm and Sunday May 5th at 1 pm. They will be performing as Killer Vees a country western concert. Tickets are $30 and may be purchased at the Central Office or at First Bank & Trust.

Kindergarten Screening and Registration will be held at the Koch Elementary School on Friday, January 18, 2019, from 8 am to 3 pm. The screening is for any child that is five years old before September 1, 2019. Children will participate in a kindergarten assessment. The school nurse will complete a brief health assessment and review immunization records. The speech therapist will screen your child's speech. Please bring your child's certified birth certificate and immunizations. The screening will take 1 to 1 1/2 hours. Children will be registered according to the following schedule, by last name. If your scheduled time does not work, feel free to come at an alternate time. A-B=8-9 am; C-F=9-10 am; G-H=10-11 am; I-L=11-12 pm; M-Q=12-1 pm; R-T=1-2 pm; U-Z=2-3 pm. School Board Approves Site Selection for New Elementary School – The board passed a motion to select the north site for an elementary school. A decision to select the site was needed within a fairly short time frame to for the design phase to remain on schedule. Choosing the north site will allow the architects to consider design layouts that will attach to the current MS/HS and may include the following: -Potential Efficiencies with Staffing -Potential Efficiencies with Building & Grounds -Traffic Flow & a single Pick-up and Drop-off for Busing improving student safety -Potential of Putting Gyms beside each other and sharing a common lobby -Not having to transport school lunch outside. -Eliminate the need for a Cafetorium -Proximity to Unity Square -No crossing of streets necessary for staff and students
