School Board Approves Site Selection for New Elementary School – The board passed a motion to select the north site for an elementary school. A decision to select the site was needed within a fairly short time frame to for the design phase to remain on schedule. Choosing the north site will allow the architects to consider design layouts that will attach to the current MS/HS and may include the following: -Potential Efficiencies with Staffing -Potential Efficiencies with Building & Grounds -Traffic Flow & a single Pick-up and Drop-off for Busing improving student safety -Potential of Putting Gyms beside each other and sharing a common lobby -Not having to transport school lunch outside. -Eliminate the need for a Cafetorium -Proximity to Unity Square -No crossing of streets necessary for staff and students
